Unbeaten in eight pro bouts, local favorite Ivan "Striker" Delgado will open up the TV portion of the card in a six-round super featherweight matchup.
Los Angeles sensation Jesus Ivan Delgado is a 25-year-old prospect on the fast track to big things in the boxing world. A favorite at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, where he has already made three appearances, Delgado turned professional in January of 2014 with a win over Kirk Bills, and he also earned a shutout decision win over Rick Quevedo on November 13 of last year that improved his professional record to 3-0-1. Owner of over 70 amateur fights, Delgado took seven years off from the ring but returned as a counter-puncher who can box or bang in the ring. In 2015, Delgado’s move to 135 to 130 pounds gave the hot prospect even more confidence that he can fight and beat the best in the world, and thus far this year, he has kept his unbeaten record intact with a shutout decision win over Rocco Espinoza and a third-round stoppage of Benjamin Vinson. On July 11, Delgado returned to the ring to face Puerto Rico’s Angel Albelo at the LA Memorial Sports Arena, and he shut his foe out, winning a six-round unanimous decision.
